Reverberation or more commonly “reverb”, refers to the effect of sounds continuing to be heard as they reflect off surfaces in an environment after the original sound is produced. This creates a sense of space and depth in the sound. In synthesizers, reverb effects are used to simulate the acoustic properties of different environments, from small rooms to vast halls. Reverb can add richness and ambiance to the sound, making it feel more lush and expansive. This effect is achieved through digital algorithms, analog circuits, or physical devices like spring and plate reverbs.
