Quantizer

A module that converts continuous control voltage (CV) signals into discrete steps corresponding to specific pitches in a musical scale. Quantizers are used to keep melodic sequences or random voltages in tune, ensuring precise pitch control.

  • Scale Selection: Maps input CV to the nearest note in a chosen scale (e.g., C major, minor pentatonic).
  • Random Melodies: Pair a quantizer with a random voltage source to generate pitch-accurate melodies or arpeggios.
  • Sequencing Aid: Use a quantizer to ensure a sequencer’s CV outputs conform to specific musical scales or modes.

Quantizers are essential for creating musically coherent melodies and harmonies in Eurorack systems.
