Fundamental

The lowest frequency of a periodic waveform, often referred to as the “base” frequency. It is the frequency that sets the pitch or “note” of the sound, with all other frequencies (harmonics) being multiples of this primary tone. In both physics and music, the fundamental serves as the core vibration around which additional tones (partials) create a richer harmonic structure.
