Delay

A time-based audio effect that records an input signal and plays it back after a certain amount of time, creating a delayed repetition of the original sound. This repetition can occur once or multiple times, depending on the settings of the delay effect. Delay effects can vary in complexity and can be used to create a sense of space, add depth to sounds, or create rhythmic patterns.
